YOUTH FOR CHRIST JAMAICA LEADS PRAYER FOR MISS UNIVERSE CONTESTANT IN ICU
Jamaica Youth for Christ has called on the nation to pray for the healing and full recovery of Dr Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica 2025. She remains in intensive care after falling from the stage during the evening gown preliminary at the Miss Universe competition in Bangkok last week.
At the organization's annual National Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, members lifted up prayers for Dr Henry, asking for God's protection, strength, and restoration.
A video of the prayer session was shared on social media with the hashtag #PrayWithUs, prompting widespread support from Jamaicans and the international community.

Over the weekend, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization renewed its call for global prayers for Dr Henry, who suffered a serious head injury during the fall and was immediately taken for medical intervention. .
The injuries are not life threatening and doctors are continuing to conduct tests to ensure a full recovery.
The 28 year old ophthalmologist fell from the stage on November 19 during the preliminary evening gown round. She was walking down the stage in an orange gown when she appeared to miss a step and tumbled off the high stage. She was carried away on a stretcher and rushed to Paolo Rangsit Hospital.
Miss Universe owner Raul Rocha visited Henry in the hospital and confirmed she had no broken bones and was receiving proper medical attention.
Dr Phylicia Henry Samuels, speaking from Thailand where she stayed with their mother, told the organization her sister "isn't doing as well as we would have hoped." Medical personnel advised that Henry would remain in the ICU for at least seven days as doctors maintain close monitoring and provide specialized care.
In a statement, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization asked Jamaicans and international supporters to keep Henry "in their prayers," and encouraged supporters to lift her "in love, strength, and hope."
