UFC Star Conor McGregor Declares "Christ is King"
Rome, Italy — UFC superstar Conor McGregor publicly declared his Christian faith during a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship press conference in Rome on October 24, 2025.
"I am not here just by chance," McGregor stated at the press conference.
"There is a higher power—God—that dictates my journey and all of our journeys. I live my life by God's word... I've engaged on a spiritual journey, and I'm saved, I am healed."
The 36-year-old former dual-weight UFC champion has made multiple public declarations of faith in recent months. On August 26, 2025, McGregor posted on X (formerly Twitter): "I have ever been so at peace in my life as I am right now. Jesus is King! Family is life! Thank you."
The post received over 3.7 million views and garnered support from fellow UFC fighters Jon Jones and Paulo Costa, both known for their Christian faith. McGregor's fiancée, Dee Devlin, showed her support by adding praying hands and heart emojis to his social media posts about Jesus.
In a separate Instagram video, McGregor was filmed during a training run when a bystander told him, "Believe in Jesus and you will go to heaven." McGregor responded, "Jesus, loves us all." When the individual shared, "Jesus changed my life," McGregor replied, "Me too, brother."
McGregor also posted an Instagram video captioned
"FACT! I BELIEVE IN GOD AND JESUS!" showing him during a running session.
The Irish fighter attended a pre-inauguration ball in January 2025 held by conservative Christian organization Turning Point USA. McGregor is scheduled to return to the UFC after an 18-month suspension and has expressed hope for a comeback fight at the anticipated UFC White House card on June 14, 2026, part of America's 250th anniversary celebration.
