TRUMP CALLS AMERICA TO PRAYER: Nation Prepares for 250th Anniversary With Return to God
President Donald Trump launched "America Prays," a nationwide initiative calling Americans to unite in prayer as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026. The initiative urges Americans to dedicate one hour of prayer every week for the United States and its people, with the White House encouraging the faithful to create prayer groups of 10 or more people.
Trump announced the initiative at the Museum of the Bible, stating
"America was founded on faith, as we know, and I've been saying it for a long time. And when faith gets weaker, our country seems to get weaker. When faith gets stronger, as it is right now, we're having a very good period of time".
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner, who is also a Baptist pastor, spoke at the launch asking "What if 1 million people pray for our country every single week between now and next July Fourth?"
Turner urged Americans to "pray with unwavering faith for the renewal of our nation and our fellow citizens," adding that he envisioned the "miracles that would take place over the next year" and the "transformation that you and I could witness in communities all across the land".
More than 70 faith organizations and churches have joined the initiative, including the Southern Baptist Convention, Catholics for Catholics, CatholicVote, Samaritan's Purse, Salem Media Group, and prayer apps Hallow and Pray.com. The White House suggested prayer groups organize meetings around specific subjects such as government leaders, cultural renewal, protection of freedom, and families.
Throughout his second term, Trump has established the White House Faith Office, Task Force on Anti-Christian Bias, and Religious Liberty Commission, with Cabinet meetings now beginning with prayer. Trump also announced that the Department of Education will soon issue new guidance protecting the right to prayer in public schools.
During his speech, Trump criticized Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia for stating that the notion rights come from God is "extremely troubling," saying "The need for this commission has never been more clear than it was last week when the ineffectual Senator from Virginia stated that the notion our rights come from our Creator is 'extremely troubling' to him".
Trump declared
"America has always been a nation that believes in the power of prayer and we will never apologize for our faith — ever, ever, never, never. We will never surrender our God-given rights. We will defend our liberties, our values, our sovereignty, and we will defend our freedom".

Finally. A president who isn't ashamed.
While Europe burns its churches and prosecutes Christians for praying, America is remembering who built this nation. Not politicians. Not corporations. God and the men who feared Him.
One million Americans praying weekly. Prayer groups of ten across the country. Cabinet meetings starting with prayer. Protection for students who won't bow to gender insanity.
This is what leadership looks like when it's not paralyzed by secular cowardice.
Notice what Trump didn't do? He didn't apologize. He didn't qualify it with "all faiths matter" weakness. He said America was founded on faith and when we abandon it, we fail.
Senator Kaine finds it "troubling" that our rights come from God? That tells you everything about the Left's real agenda. They want your rights to come from government. So government can take them away.
The Declaration says we're endowed by our Creator. Not by Congress. Not by courts. By God. And that fact terrifies tyrants.
Seventy organizations signed up. Millions will pray. And the elites will mock it because they know prayer changes things they can't control.
When the Founders signed that Declaration 250 years ago, they appealed to the Supreme Judge of the world. Not because it sounded nice. Because they knew only God could birth a nation from nothing.
If America survives another 250 years, it won't be because of better policies. It'll be because we remembered whose nation this really is.
