Evangelist Todd White releases apology video amid allegations of financial misconduct, silencing staff with NDAs, and calls for independent investigation into Lifestyle Christianity.
Todd White Apologizes in Video as Online Petition Demands Full Investigation Into Lifestyle Christianity
Evangelist Todd White, founder and president of Lifestyle Christianity in Watauga, Texas, has released a nine minute video apology addressing mounting allegations against his ministry. The apology comes after weeks of intensifying scrutiny from former staff, church members, and prominent Christian leaders.
In the video, White acknowledged that people had been hurt under his leadership. "There are people out there that are wounded or distanced from God, and it's through my leadership," he said. "I am deeply sorry. I've asked you to forgive me, and I ask you once again."
Repentance to me isn't just a word. It's actually changing the way that you think.

The controversy escalated after Bible teacher and podcaster Mike Winger published an extensive critique examining testimonies, financial practices, and leadership culture within Lifestyle Christianity. Winger also pledged $100,000 to fund an independent third party investigation into the ministry's operations.
Simultaneously, an online petition has gathered more than 1,600 signatures calling on Lifestyle Christianity to drop all nondisclosure agreements, stop silencing those who wish to come forward, and approve an independent investigation. Specific allegations include questions about financial accountability, governance structures, verification of healing testimonies, and reports of a high pressure culture from former staff and attendees.
Critics have also pointed to claims that White asked supporters to make checks payable to him personally rather than to the ministry, an alleged salary exceeding $500,000 per year funded by donations, and reports of excessive personal spending. White did not address each accusation individually but said reforms are underway.
White also disclosed that he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2021, during which Pastor William Hinn provided leadership. He noted the ministry now has nearly 400 students enrolled and recently achieved accreditation to offer biblical studies degrees.
Evangelist Todd White Faces Growing Calls for Transparency and Independent Accountability

Supporters have described the apology as a sign of humility and willingness to reform. However, critics argue that meaningful change requires more than words. They are calling for structural reforms including an independent financial review, external board oversight, and the full release of all nondisclosure agreements that may be preventing former staff from speaking publicly.
The latter portion of White's video drew additional criticism as it shifted toward promoting his ministry school and its enrollment numbers, leading some observers to question whether the apology was genuine or strategic.
The Crusader's Opinion
When a ministry operates with half a million dollar salaries, personal checks from donors, nondisclosure agreements silencing former staff, and unverified miracle claims, the Body of Christ has every right to demand answers. Todd White's nine minute video may use the word "repentance," but true repentance looks like opening the books, not promoting your school in the same breath. The Church must hold its leaders to the highest standard of integrity. If you cannot withstand an independent investigation, that itself is the answer. We pray for genuine repentance and restoration, but accountability is not optional. It is biblical.
