Pakistani Muslim Rapist Muhammad Uzair Riaz Dogar and Family Pressure Christian Family to Drop Charges After RAPING a Six Year Old Girl
A Pakistani Muslim man who sexually assaulted his Christian neighbor's six year old daughter is pressuring her family to withdraw their police complaint and reach a settlement, with his family threatening to make the Christians' lives miserable if they pursue justice.
Muhammad Uzair Riaz Dogar, a Muslim man in his early 20s, sodomized the daughter of Saleem Masih, an impoverished Christian mason and Salvation Army church member, on December 10 while she was being tutored at Dogar's home in Jaranwala, Faisalabad District, Punjab Province.
Masih's daughter had been studying with Dogar's sister for nearly four months, but on that day the tutor left her and other students with her younger brother and went to do household chores. Dogar allowed all the Muslim students to leave except Masih's daughter, whom he forcibly took to another room and raped.
When the girl failed to return home, her mother went to get her and found her sitting near Dogar's home crying in pain with her clothes soaked in blood. The family called police who took the girl to a hospital where examination confirmed she had been sodomized. Police then took Dogar into custody.
However, Dogar's family has been pressuring the Christians with threats to reach a settlement, forcing them to leave their village.
"They had the audacity to tell us that we are poor Christians, and we should be thankful that their son had only sodomized the child, not raped her, which would have brought dishonor and shame to us" Masih told Christian Daily International Morning Star News. "They also threatened that if we do not reach a settlement with them, they would make our lives miserable and no one would stand with us."
Masih said he resolved to continue pursuing justice despite the threats and intimidation.
"Muslims think that they can commit any crime against us, and no one would dare oppose them," he said. "The same accused had previously assaulted another Christian girl of the village, but her family kept silent due to the threats. But we are not going to back down from our case, come what may."
The family received legal aid and shelter from Christians' True Spirit, which has kept them away from their village until police file a chargesheet in court. Police charged Dogar under Section 376 iii of the Pakistan Penal Code, which prescribes death or life sentence for those guilty of raping minors or the mentally or physically disabled.
Pakistan, whose population is more than 96 percent Muslim, ranks number 8 on Open Doors' 2025 World Watch List of countries where it's most difficult to be a Christian.
