NIGERIA: "Muslims Killed My Church Members"
Over 7000 Christians murdered by islamic terrorists in Nigeria 2025

Nigeria - More than 7,000 Christians have been killed in Nigeria during the first 220 days of 2025, an average of 35 deaths per day, according to a report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety), a Nigeria-based human rights organization.

The report, released in August 2025 by Christian criminologist Emeka Umeagbalasi, estimated that "no fewer than 7,800 others were violently seized and abducted for being Christians." Since 2009, Intersociety reports that 125,009 Christians have been killed with 19,100 churches razed by jihadist groups including Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), and Fulani militants.

According to Open Doors, a human rights organization monitoring Christian persecution globally, more Christians are killed for their faith in Nigeria than in the rest of the world combined. The violence has displaced at least 12 million Christians since 2009.

On September 23, 2025, Boko Haram launched a deadly assault on the Christian community of Wagga Mongoro in Madagali County, Adamawa state. The insurgents killed four Christians identified as David Mbicho, his son Daniel, Jude Jacob, and Omega Duda. The attackers burned motorcycles, vehicles, houses, shops, and a church building. This marked the second attack on the village in two months.

In January 2025, Boko Haram escalated attacks on Christian communities in Chibok, Borno state, displacing more than 4,000 Christians. Terrorists targeted the villages of Njila, Banziir, Shikarkir, and Yirmirmug, burning homes, torching churches, and killing five people. Eyewitnesses reported that militants demanded Christians convert to Islam or face death.

On June 13, 2025, Islamist Fulani militants attacked the town of Yelewata in Benue state, killing up to 200 Nigerian Christians in what Aid to the Church in Need called the "worst killing spree" in the region. The attackers targeted internally displaced Christians, shouting "Allahu Akbar" before setting fire to buildings where families slept and assaulting fleeing victims with machetes.

During Lent and Holy Week 2025, Fulani herdsmen killed more than 170 Christians in Nigeria's Middle Belt region, with 72 deaths reported in Benue state during the Easter Triduum between April 18-20.

U.S. Congressman Riley Moore wrote to Secretary of State Marco Rubio urging him to designate Nigeria as a "Country of Particular Concern" due to the ongoing persecution of Christians. Moore cited the 7,000 Christians killed this year and noted that a priest was kidnapped and murdered on Ash Wednesday while 54 Christians were martyred on Palm Sunday.

Senator Ted Cruz introduced the Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act of 2025, seeking to hold Nigerian officials accountable who "facilitate Islamic Jihadist violence." Cruz stated that 50,000 Christians have been killed since 2009 with 2,000 schools and 18,000 churches destroyed.

The U.S. State Department confirmed it "remains deeply concerned about the levels of violence against Christians" in Nigeria, including threats from Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa. Both groups are designated as "Entities of Particular Concern" under the International Religious Freedom Act.

THE CRUSADERS OPINION

Nigeria represents Christianity's bloodiest persecution today. Over 7,000 believers murdered in 220 days proves Islamic terrorism targets Christians systematically.

Boko Haram and ISWAP don't attack indiscriminately; they specifically massacre Christians, burn churches, and demand conversions at gunpoint while shouting "Allahu Akbar."

This is religious genocide. Yet Western governments and media remain silent while Christians die daily.

The Nigerian government's complicity through inaction makes them accomplices to slaughter. America must immediately designate Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern, suspend arms sales, and impose sanctions until persecution ends.

These martyrs deserve justice, and their persecutors deserve severe earthly punishment before facing eternal hellfire for their evil.

Christians worldwide must demand action.

Our brothers and sisters are being beheaded, burned alive, and hunted simply for believing in Christ. Their blood cries out.
