San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy partnered with Toyota in December 2025 to gift nine vehicles to military veterans and families whose children battle pediatric illnesses. The 26 year old quarterback, who signed a five year $265 million contract in May, personally met with each family and presented them with game tickets, custom jerseys, signed footballs, and brand new vehicles including Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro, BZ4X, Sienna, and Camry models.

Purdy told the assembled veterans and families he appreciated what they have done and what they stand for. "We look up to you just for your fight and your courage," the quarterback stated before leading the families outside to white vehicles adorned with giant red bows.

"We just wanted to help you all out as best we could," Purdy added, noting that Toyota would customize each vehicle for the specific needs of individual recipients.

The gift giving took place during the 49ers playoff race, marking Purdy's third consecutive year of significant charitable contributions during the Christmas season. In 2023, Purdy gifted 10 Toyota trucks to his offensive linemen. One veteran who received a vehicle served three military deployments and expressed gratitude for the unexpected blessing.

"I didn't know what to expect," the veteran stated in a video posted on social media. "The surprises kept on going and going."

Purdy concluded the event by telling recipients "Merry Christmas" and "God bless you," making clear his Christian motivation for the charitable act.

The Iowa native was selected with the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, earning the designation "Mr. Irrelevant," before leading the 49ers to back to back NFC Championship game appearances in his first two seasons. In 2023, he broke the 49ers single season passing yards record and earned a Pro Bowl nomination. Purdy has consistently attributed his success to God's grace rather than his own abilities.

In previous interviews, Purdy explained that his faith stems from his Christian upbringing in Gilbert, Arizona, where his family prayed together regularly. "Whatever I'm doing, I know what my purpose is, and that's in the Lord. That's what my identity is in," he told reporters while playing college football at Iowa State. His family continues to pray together before each game, with Purdy calling his parents the night before every NFL contest.

Purdy has stated he does not pray for victories during games but instead prays for peace and clarity. "It's not, 'God, can we win here? Can we do something great here?' It's more just to have that peace, that steadfastness in all the chaos," the quarterback explained. He begins each day reading Psalm 23 before entering solitude and prayer.

The 49ers quarterback previously wore cleats supporting Samaritan's Purse, the humanitarian organization led by Franklin Graham. He also joined dozens of NFL players in signing a letter demanding United States government action to protect persecuted Christians in Nigeria through security measures, sanctions, and aid.

THE CRUSADER'S OPINION

While most millionaire athletes are building brands, Purdy's building the Kingdom.

He stands with persecuted Nigerian Christians.

He reads Scripture before games. He leads Bible studies with teammates.

This is a warrior. This is what every Christian man should aspire to become. Not perfect, but faithful. Not comfortable, but obedient. Watch what God does when you actually trust Him with everything.
