Nancy Guthrie Suspect Caught Stalking Her Home Before Abduction: FBI Doorbell Camera Bombshell
FBI evidence suggests the masked suspect in Nancy Guthries abduction visited her Arizona home before kidnapping the 84 year old mother of Savannah Guthrie.
Masked Suspect Caught on Nancy Guthrie's Doorbell Camera May Have Stalked Her Home Before Kidnapping
The FBI investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year old mother of NBC "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie, has taken a chilling new turn. A masked suspect captured on the octogenarian's doorbell camera is now believed to have visited her Catalina Foothills, Arizona home on a date prior to her abduction on February 1, 2026.
According to ABC News, the FBI released doorbell camera footage showing the masked individual at Guthrie's residence without a backpack on a day before she vanished. Previously released images from February 10 showed the same suspect wearing a backpack, a holster, gloves, and carrying a flashlight in his mouth on the night she disappeared.
Former FBI agent Jason Pack told reporters that the earlier visit could indicate advance surveillance of the property.
The fact that there was preparation and planning makes it more of a sophisticated type of criminal activity.
The suspect, described as approximately 5'9" to 5'10" tall, was seen tampering with the Google Nest doorbell camera, attempting to knock it off before covering the lens with foliage from a potted plant. The FBI and Google worked together to recover the footage from backend systems, even though the physical device was missing and Guthrie did not have a cloud subscription.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department cautioned against drawing conclusions, stating that "any suggestion that the photographs were taken on different days is purely speculative" since the images lack timestamps. However, the images clearly show the suspect in different states of attire across the footage.
Since the surveillance images were released to the public, investigators received more than 4,000 tips within 24 hours. Bloodstains found at the residence were confirmed to belong to Nancy Guthrie. Multiple ransom notes demanding cryptocurrency have been sent, with deadlines that have already passed.
Savannah Guthrie stepped away from her NBC duties, including co hosting duties for the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremonies, to assist in the search for her mother. The family is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's recovery, with the FBI adding an additional $100,000.
FBI Reveals Nancy Guthrie Suspect May Have Planned Abduction With Earlier Home Visit

As of February 27, 2026, Nancy Guthrie has not been located and the investigation remains ongoing. No suspect has been publicly identified by officials. The case has drawn national attention and a massive multi agency response involving the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the FBI, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The Crusader's Opinion
An 84 year old woman of faith, snatched from her own home in the middle of the night by what appears to be a calculated predator. This was not random. This was planned evil. Someone watched her, studied her routine, and returned to take her. The fact that this monster had the audacity to scout her home before the abduction tells us everything we need to know about the depravity of this act. We pray for Nancy Guthrie's safe return and for the swift hand of justice to find whoever did this. There is no punishment on earth sufficient for those who prey upon the elderly and vulnerable, but there is an eternal one.
