CHRIS TOMLIN DECLARES SPIRITUAL AWAKENING SWEEPING AMERICA DURING FOX NEWS CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
THE NEWS
Grammy Award winning worship leader Chris Tomlin declared there is a Christian awakening happening in America during Fox News Media's sixth annual All American Christmas Tree Lighting on November 21.
Speaking with Fox and Friends co host Steve Doocy before his performance, Tomlin reflected on spirituality and the Charlie Kirk memorial ahead of his performance at Fox Square in New York City.
"There's an awakening in our nation," Tomlin told Fox News, referencing the spiritual atmosphere he has witnessed since performing at Charlie Kirk's memorial service in September.
The contemporary Christian singer performed several Christmas songs during the special, including "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Christmas Day," "Silent Night," "Holy Forever," and "Joy to the World," accompanied by a choir.
The 50 foot tall All American Christmas Tree was decorated with 18,000 ornaments and 340,000 lights, with a six foot tall dove topper containing 4,800 embedded lights.

Throughout the special, The Five co hosts reminisced on holiday memories and traditions. Fox News chief religion correspondent Lauren Green introduced Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Reverend Franklin Graham who spoke on the importance of the holiday season, while Rabbi Kalman Samuels shared a message of hope.
Tomlin previously told The Christian Post he is seeing signs of a spiritual revival unlike anything in his decades of ministry.
"There's a hunger I haven't felt in a while," Tomlin said. "People are coming hungry, wanting to connect with God. There's no playing games anymore. It feels like we're in a real moment, an awakening."
The worship leader called Charlie Kirk's memorial on September 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona one of the most spiritually charged days of his life.
"For Jesus to be proclaimed so boldly throughout that whole day, what an awakening moment in our nation," Tomlin said. "It felt like a shift, something people have been praying for."
For Tomlin, the most powerful moment came when Erika Kirk stood before the massive crowd and forgave her husband's assassin.
"I think Erika's words of forgiveness were the words heard around the world," he said. "You can preach all you want, but when you see someone actually live it, that's the Spirit of God. That kind of forgiveness can only come from someone who really walks with Him."
Tomlin said he believes thousands came to faith that day, adding "I think so many people watched that moment and were changed."
The worship leader shared that an Uber driver told him, "Man, that thing that happened to Charlie, it woke me up. I'm getting baptized this Sunday."
"Every day we look at each other like, 'OK, what's God going to do tonight?' because you can't plan what's happening," Tomlin told The Christian Post about his current tour. "People are responding to God in beautiful, unexpected ways. Every night, it feels like people aren't coming for a show. They're coming desperate to encounter God."

THE CRUSADER'S OPINION
Chris Tomlin sees what the secular media refuses to acknowledge.
America is hungry for God.
Not the watered down, therapeutic deism that passes for Christianity in most churches.
Real encounter with the living God.
Tomlin says people are coming to his concerts "desperate to encounter God."
Not entertained.
Not inspired.
Desperate.
That desperation is the first sign of genuine revival.
When entertainment stops satisfying, when politics stops saving, when materialism stops fulfilling, people get desperate.
And desperate people find God.
The Charlie Kirk memorial was not just a funeral.
It was an evangelistic crusade disguised as a memorial service.
Jesus proclaimed boldly.
Thousands coming to faith.
Erika Kirk forgiving her husband's murderer before a stadium crowd.
That is the Gospel demonstrated with power.
Tomlin reports an Uber driver getting baptized because Charlie Kirk's assassination "woke him up."
Tragedy has a way of demolishing our illusions about control and safety.
When those illusions crumble, we are confronted with eternal questions we spent our lives avoiding.
"There's no playing games anymore," Tomlin says.
That is revival language.
When games end, God begins.
The secular world will call this emotional manipulation or collective delusion.
They always do.
They said the same about the First Great Awakening, the Second Great Awakening, the Azusa Street Revival, the Jesus Movement.
History remembers the critics as footnotes and the revivals as turning points.
