Angel Families Pray Over President Trump at White House Ceremony Declaring National Angel Family Day
Multiple family members who lost loved ones to crimes committed by illegal immigrants gathered at the White House on Monday for an emotional ceremony as President Donald Trump signed a proclamation designating February 22 as National Angel Family Day.
The solemn event, held in the East Room, honored survivors and the memories of more than 50 Americans killed by illegal aliens. Trump highlighted the case of Laken Riley, a 22 year old nursing student from Georgia who was murdered by Venezuelan national Jose Antonio Ibarra in February 2024.
Laken was viciously attacked, brutally beaten and murdered by an illegal alien gang member.
President Trump said, referencing the case that led to the Laken Riley Act, which requires federal authorities to detain undocumented immigrants charged with theft related crimes or assault on police officers. The administration reported the act has resulted in over 21,000 arrests.
Allyson Phillips, Laken Riley's mother, spoke at the ceremony and remembered her daughter as
the most responsible, hard working, kind, selfless, beautiful Christian
who had woken at four in the morning to decorate her roommate's door for her birthday before going on the run that ended her life.
Laura Wilkerson, whose son Joshua was murdered by an illegal immigrant, recalled meeting Trump eleven years ago.
He never ever looked away from my pain. He looked me straight in the eye.
Jody Jones, whose brother Rocky was shot and killed, concluded with a prayer:
God bless you, God bless Donald Trump and God bless America.
The ceremony concluded with the military performing "Amazing Grace" as names and photographs of over 50 victims were displayed. Trump called on Americans to assemble in their places of worship to honor those killed by illegal aliens and those taken by the fentanyl epidemic, and to lift up the Angel Families in prayer.
Trump Signs Historic Proclamation for Angel Families as Loved Ones Pray for the President

The proclamation asks citizens across the nation to remember and honor the innocent lives stolen by criminal illegal aliens. Family members openly prayed over the President during the event, asking God to sweep through the country and make it right again.
The signing ceremony came just days before the second anniversary of Laken Riley's murder on February 22, 2024. Jose Antonio Ibarra is currently serving a life sentence for the killing.
The Crusader's Opinion
These families stood in the White House and did the most powerful thing any human being can do: they prayed. They prayed over a sitting President. They asked God to bless the man fighting to protect American citizens from the very evil that stole their children, their brothers, their loved ones.
Every single one of these deaths was preventable. Every single victim would still be alive today if our borders had been enforced and our laws had been followed. These are not statistics. These are sons and daughters with beating hearts, with futures, with families who now carry an unimaginable burden.
When a nation refuses to protect its own people, it invites the judgment of God. When it starts listening to the cries of its citizens again, there is hope.
