Trump Tells Erika Kirk to Sue Them All as Conspiracy Theorists Attack Charlie Kirks Grieving Widow
Trump urges Erika Kirk to sue critics spreading conspiracy theories about her husband Charlie Kirks assassination calling them jealous at a White House Easter event.
Trump Tells Erika Kirk to Sue Her Critics After Months of Conspiracy Theories About Charlie Kirk's Death
President Donald Trump publicly urged Erika Kirk, the widow of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk, to take legal action against those who have spread conspiracy theories about her and her late husband's death.
Trump made the comments during the White House Easter Lunch on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Upon spotting Kirk in the room, the President addressed her directly.
"Hello, darling! Wow. There's a good table. I like that table. You're doing well, right?"
Trump then turned his attention to what he described as unfair attacks on Kirk's character, telling her plainly that she should pursue legal action.
"I told her, 'You oughta sue some of these.' They're so jealous of Erika. I said, 'You oughta sue their...' I can say it; you're not allowed to say this; you have to be nicer."
Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University during a Turning Point USA event. Since his death, Erika Kirk has faced a barrage of online conspiracy theories and harassment targeting her character and the circumstances of his killing.
Former TPUSA employee Candace Owens has been among the most prominent voices promoting conspiracy theories about the assassination on her podcast. After Trump's remarks, Owens responded by saying, "There's something that's just so middle school about this."
Kirk herself addressed the toll of the conspiracies, stating simply: "Stop. That's it. That's all I have to say. Stop."
The suspect in the killing, Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested in connection with the assassination. Robinson allegedly left a handwritten note stating he had the "opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk." A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 18.
Trump recently appointed Erika Kirk to the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors, a role originally intended for her late husband. She was also unanimously elected as CEO and Chair of Turning Point USA following Charlie Kirk's death.
President Trump Backs Erika Kirk With Call to Sue Conspiracy Theorists Targeting Charlie Kirk's Widow

The White House initially posted video of the Easter Lunch event on YouTube, but it was later deleted. The video had captured Trump's full remarks, including comments about other public figures.
Erika Kirk has continued to lead Turning Point USA through a period of immense personal grief and public scrutiny. She recently kicked off a new TPUSA spring college tour alongside White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt at George Washington University.
The Crusader's Opinion
This woman lost her husband to an assassin's bullet. She buried the father of her children. And what did the internet do? It attacked her. It spread lies about her. It turned her grief into content for conspiracy podcasts.
The cruelty is staggering. A Christian widow being smeared and harassed while she is still mourning, while the trial of her husband's killer has not even begun. Where is the decency? Where is the compassion?
President Trump is right. Sue every last one of them. When you destroy someone's name with baseless conspiracy theories, there should be consequences. Erika Kirk deserves justice, not just for the murder of her husband, but for the relentless campaign to destroy her in the aftermath.
