Trump Says 'Praise Be to Allah' on in Iran War Threat
Trump stirred outrage on Easter with a profanity laced Truth Social post threatening Iran that ended 'Praise be to Allah.'
Why Did Trump Say "Praise Be to Allah" on Easter Sunday in His Iran Threat?
President Donald Trump ignited a firestorm on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, after posting a profanity laced threat against Iran on Truth Social that ended with the words "Praise be to Allah."
The post came hours after Trump celebrated the rescue of a U.S. airman in Iran as an "Easter miracle." In the follow up message, the president warned that Washington would strike Iranian power plants and bridges on Tuesday if Tehran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran," Trump wrote, before telling Iranian leaders to "Open the F**kin' Strait" or they would be "living in Hell."
The message closed with the line "Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP," the Arabic name for God commonly used by Muslims and Arabic speaking Christians.
The reaction was swift. Former Georgia Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene broke publicly with the president, calling his words incompatible with the Christian faith.
Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians. On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President. Marjorie Taylor Greene
British broadcaster Piers Morgan also urged Trump to pull the message down.
This is embarrassing. Delete it, unless you want everyone to think you've lost your marbles. Piers Morgan
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accused the president of "ranting like an unhinged madman" while Americans prepared for Easter services. Conservative commentator Laura Loomer, by contrast, cheered the post, writing on X, "This is what I voted for. Bomb jihadis back to the Stone Age where their mentality permanently lives."
Christian Leaders React to Trump's Profane Easter Message Invoking Allah

By April 7, Trump announced a two week pause on strikes against Iran to pursue a ten point peace framework, and Tehran signaled willingness to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. But the theological backlash over his Easter message continued to build inside evangelical and Catholic circles.
The Christian Post compiled five prominent responses to the post, highlighting a growing divide among the president's religious supporters over whether profanity and the invocation of Allah on the holiest day of the Christian calendar crossed a line.
The Crusader's Opinion
On the day we celebrate the empty tomb of our risen Lord, the leader of the free world dropped F bombs and invoked the name of a false god. There is no polite way to say this. Easter is the day Christ conquered death. It is not the day to curse like a sailor and bless your war threats in the name of Allah. Marjorie Taylor Greene, of all people, was right on this one. Christians do not owe any politician blind loyalty. We owe our loyalty to the King of Kings, and when a leader publicly dishonors Him, we say so. Defend the nation. Strike your enemies if you must. But do it in the name of the One who rose from the grave, not the one whose followers have been slaughtering Christians from Nigeria to Nineveh for fourteen hundred years.
