Trump's Board of Peace Launches With Billions Pledged for Gaza Reconstruction
President Donald Trump hosted the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. Representatives from nearly 50 countries gathered to discuss the future of the war torn Gaza Strip.
Nine member nations, including Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait, pledged a combined $7 billion toward relief and reconstruction efforts. President Trump committed an additional $10 billion from the United States.
The United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance also raised $2 billion in contributions.
Five countries agreed to deploy troops as part of an international stabilization force. Indonesia's president pledged at least 8,000 troops, while Albania, Kosovo, and Kazakhstan also committed military and police personnel. Egypt and Jordan will train Palestinian security forces.
The stabilization plan calls for 20,000 soldiers and 12,000 police officers, with troops initially deploying to Rafah to focus on reconstruction.
The Board of Peace will build an "Abrahamic Gateway" connecting Gaza to Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, India, and Europe.
Short term goals include building 100,000 homes for 500,000 residents with $5 billion in infrastructure funding. Long term plans envision 400,000 homes for Gaza's 2 million residents, requiring over $30 billion in investment.
FIFA pledged $75 million for soccer infrastructure, including 50 mini pitches, five full size fields, a $15 million academy, and a 20,000 to 25,000 capacity stadium. Kazakhstan's president offered 500 scholarships for Palestinian students. Japan committed to hosting a major aid fundraiser, with South Korea, the Philippines, and Singapore planning to attend.
The Board of Peace, authorized by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, comprises 25 member nations.
World Leaders Pledge Billions and Troops at Historic Gaza Reconstruction Summit

These commitments represent only a fraction of the estimated $70 billion needed to fully rebuild the war torn territory. The scale of the destruction in Gaza has left millions displaced and infrastructure devastated.
The Crusader's Opinion
Peace in the Holy Land is not just a geopolitical goal. It is a biblical imperative. For too long, the people of Gaza have suffered under the tyranny of Hamas, an organization that used its own citizens as human shields while the world looked the other way. If this Board of Peace can actually deliver homes, stability, and opportunity to millions of displaced families, then praise God for it. But let us be watchful. Billions in aid mean nothing if they are funneled into the hands of terrorists. The Christians of the Middle East, already driven to near extinction, must not be forgotten in any reconstruction plan. We must demand that religious freedom for all, including our brothers and sisters in Christ, is a non negotiable condition of every dollar spent.
