Tim Tebow Drops Powerful New Book That Retells the Crucifixion Through the Eyes of the Cross
Tim Tebow reveals how a moment of conviction inspired his illustrated book retelling the crucifixion from the perspective of the cross itself.
Tim Tebow Reveals New Illustrated Book That Tells the Crucifixion Story From the Perspective of the Cross
Former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow has released a new illustrated book titled If the Tree Could Speak: The Story of the Cross That Saw It All, published on February 24, 2026 by HarperCollins.
The 38 year old shared that the idea came to him during a sleepless morning while listening to a sermon on Luke 19:40, where Jesus declared that if His followers remained silent, "the rocks will cry out." That moment of conviction led Tebow to imagine what the wooden cross itself might say about witnessing the crucifixion.
The book, illustrated by Dominican American artist Rommel Ruiz, follows the journey of a tree from its beginnings as a tiny seed with big dreams. Tebow explained the concept:
"I decided to go back to when this tree was just a seed. Then it grew up, and it had dreams. He dreams of being a door, a table or maybe even a throne."
Those dreams are shattered when the tree is cut down and shaped into a cross. Tebow continued:
"Dreams were dashed when he gets cut into a cross, and he's thinking, 'No, a cross. That's for criminals.'"
But everything changes when the cross encounters Jesus Christ at Golgotha.
"His life is transformed because of this encounter with Jesus."
Tebow emphasized the book's central message with conviction:
"The Gospel should never become old to us. If the life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ is true, it changes everything."
He also spoke about the power of faith to transform lives from the inside out:
"Christianity isn't this religion that's like your average and it makes you a little bit better. It's a relationship that takes you from dead to alive, from lost to found, from orphan to son or daughter."
Tebow, who founded the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2010 to combat human trafficking and bring hope to those in need, lives in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife Demi Leigh, former Miss Universe 2017, and their daughter Daphne.
Tim Tebow's New Book Reimagines the Cross as a Witness to the Greatest Story Ever Told

Tebow also addressed the importance of reaching young people through faith based storytelling:
"Young people, especially, are looking for that purpose and meaning, and I think it can only be found in the person of Jesus."
The book reframes the cross not as an instrument of execution, but as a doorway and a throne, illustrating how God can transform something meant for shame into the greatest symbol of hope the world has ever known.
"God could show up, and he can turn something that feels like only a mess into a message."
The Crusader's Opinion
This is exactly the kind of bold, unapologetic Christian content the world desperately needs right now. While Hollywood pumps out anti Christian garbage and public schools strip every mention of Jesus from the classroom, Tim Tebow is out here putting the crucifixion story into the hands of the next generation. That takes backbone. The cross is not something to be ashamed of. It is the single most important event in human history. The fact that a former NFL star is using his platform to proclaim the Gospel instead of hawking energy drinks or chasing clout should convict every Christian who stays silent when they have the chance to speak up. If the rocks will cry out, so should we.
