Three Family Members Indicted for Brutal Assault on Conservative Reporter Savanah Hernandez
Federal Grand Jury Charges Ostroushko Family in Attack on TPUSA Frontlines Journalist at Minneapolis Anti ICE Protest
A federal grand jury has indicted three members of the same family for the brutal assault on Turning Point USA Frontlines reporter Savanah Hernandez, who was surrounded and shoved to the ground while reporting on an anti ICE demonstration outside the Whipple Federal Building in St. Paul, Minnesota on 11 April 2026.
Indicted are Christopher Ostroushko, DeYanna Ostroushko, and Paige Ostroushko. Christopher and Paige face additional federal charges of "willfully injuring and intimidating a journalist engaged in federally protected activity."
DOJ Cracks Down on Mob Violence Against Conservative Journalists
"I feel so grateful that the federal government is actually paying attention to assaults on journalists," Hernandez said following the indictment. She noted she and her colleagues had endured years of similar aggression while covering left wing protests, almost always without consequence.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche issued a stern warning: "These deplorable actions, as charged in the indictment, will not be tolerated in America."
The defendants are scheduled to appear in court in May 2026. The case has been hailed as a turning point after years of unprosecuted political violence aimed at conservative reporters.
The Crusader's Opinion
For years the Left's foot soldiers have terrorised conservative reporters with impunity, knowing the press, the prosecutors, and the politicians would look the other way. No more. Federal indictments are exactly what is required when a mob lays hands on a journalist. The First Amendment is not a Left wing privilege. Christians who care about truth, public accountability, and the rule of law should celebrate this moment and demand that every assault on a reporter, regardless of politics, end at the bench of a federal judge.
