The 3 Easter Gifts Your Children Cannot Afford to Miss
Fred Pry of Child Evangelism Fellowship reveals three Easter gifts every child needs: humility, forgiveness, and eternal life through Jesus.
What Are the Three Easter Gifts Every Child Should Know About?
Fred Pry, Vice President of Administration at Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), has outlined three spiritual gifts that parents and teachers can share with children this Easter season.
The first gift is humility. Pry points to Jesus washing His disciples' feet and praying in Gethsemane, "Not my will, but yours be done," as the ultimate model of selflessness. He encourages families to read Matthew 26, Mark 14, and Luke 22 together, use resurrection eggs as visual aids, and engage in family service projects such as volunteering or delivering baked goods to seniors.
The second gift is forgiveness. Pry explains that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross offers complete forgiveness from sin, guilt, and shame.
Forgiveness sets you free from all guilt and shame.
He suggests a visual demonstration using two glass jars, one with bleach and another with dark colored water, to show children how Jesus' death cleanses sin. Parents are also encouraged to teach children the importance of forgiving others.
The third and most profound gift is eternal life. The resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, and Pry emphasizes that believing in Jesus makes every person a child of God.
The moment you believe in Jesus, you become a child of God.
He encourages parents to ask their children to recall their happiest moments, then explain that heaven is a place of perfect joy and peace beyond anything experienced on earth, without end.
Child Evangelism Fellowship, one of the world's largest children's ministry organizations, reached 27.4 million children through face to face ministry in 2024 alone. Their Easter Party Clubs are active in communities across the globe, presenting the Gospel to both churched and unchurched children.
Teaching Children the True Meaning of Easter Through Humility, Forgiveness, and Eternal Life

Pry's message arrives at a critical time. As Easter becomes increasingly commercialized with chocolate eggs and bunny merchandise, the true spiritual meaning of the season risks being lost on the next generation. CEF's approach focuses on making the Gospel accessible and engaging for young minds through interactive lessons, games, and hands on activities.
The organization's Easter Party Clubs feature Gospel centered Bible lessons, interactive games, memory verses, and songs, all designed to help children understand the significance of Jesus' death and resurrection. These clubs are led by CEF trained teachers in churches, community centers, and homes across the country and around the world.
The Crusader's Opinion
Every parent has a God given responsibility to raise their children in the knowledge of the Lord. The world is doing everything it can to strip Easter of its meaning, replacing the cross with candy and the resurrection with rabbit mascots. But the truth remains: Jesus Christ conquered death. That is the most important fact any child will ever learn. If we fail to teach our children about humility, forgiveness, and eternal life, the culture will happily teach them that none of it matters. We cannot let that happen. Organizations like Child Evangelism Fellowship are doing the work that many churches have abandoned. If they can reach 27 million children in a single year, imagine what could happen if every Christian parent took this message seriously in their own home.
