Terrorists Invaded a Priest's Home at 3 AM, Killed Three, and Dragged Him Into the Night
Gunmen Kill Three and Abduct Catholic Priest Father Nathaniel Asuwaye in Kaduna State Nigeria
Gunmen attacked the residence of Father Nathaniel Asuwaye, parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Karku, Kaduna state, at approximately 3:20 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2026.
The attackers killed three people, including two soldiers and a police officer stationed to protect the area, before abducting the priest and at least 10 other people. Kaduna's Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan described the assault as "an act of invasion by a group of terrorists."
Police confirmed the incident but offered a conflicting account, stating five people were kidnapped including the priest. The discrepancy between church and police numbers mirrors the pattern seen in other Nigerian abduction cases.
Kaduna State Christians Face Unrelenting Wave of Abductions and Killings

The attack came just days after security services reportedly rescued all 166 worshippers abducted from two churches elsewhere in Kaduna. The pattern is relentless: rescue one group, another is taken. Kaduna state remains one of the most dangerous regions in the world for Christians.
