Fulani Terrorists Kill Two Policemen and Four Christians in Latest Benue State Attack

Fulani terrorists murdered two police officers and four Christian civilians in a new attack in Benue State, Nigeria. This latest massacre adds to the escalating campaign of systematic violence against Christian communities across the region.

The attack follows a devastating 72 hours in early February that left at least 33 Christians dead across multiple Benue communities. On February 3, armed Fulani Ethnic Militia stormed Abande village market in Mbaikyor Ward, Kwande LGA, executing 16 Christian traders and a Mobile Police officer identified as Isaac Madu.

"The attack occurred at night, as the herdsmen invaded the community and shot indiscriminately"

— Peter Ochekpa, area resident

Three days later on February 6, heavily armed assailants surrounded Anwase village market and slaughtered 13 more Christian traders. They burned over 20 houses to the ground.

In a separate attack, 25 armed Fulani jihadists abducted nine worshippers from St. John's Catholic Church in Ojije during a night vigil attended by over 200 congregants. The attackers were heard speaking Fulfulde and chanting "Allahu Akbar."

The Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa reports that Fulani Ethnic Militias have been linked to more than 55,000 deaths across Nigeria's Middle Belt over the past four years. Nine suspects were recently charged with 57 terrorism related offences at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

THE CRUSADER'S OPINION

Two police officers and four Christians murdered in a single attack. Thirty three dead in 72 hours. Over 55,000 killed in four years.

This is not a conflict. This is a genocide.

The world will mourn a cathedral fire for weeks but say nothing when Nigerian churches are burned with families still inside them.

Every murdered believer is a martyr whose blood cries out from the ground. We will not be silent.
