Robert Jeffress Drops a Bombshell: Both Parties Are Intensely Corrupt as America Turns 250

Pastor Robert Jeffress Calls Both Political Parties "Intensely Corrupt" in Sermon on America's Future

Pastor Robert Jeffress, senior pastor of First Baptist Dallas, delivered a powerful message titled "America at the Crossroads" on April 12, 2026, warning Christians about the spiritual and moral trajectory of the United States as it approaches its 250th anniversary.

Jeffress opened by citing Benjamin Franklin's words during the 1787 Constitutional Convention, when Franklin asked whether the nation had "forgotten this powerful friend" and whether Americans still needed divine assistance.

The pastor also referenced Abraham Lincoln's 1863 Thanksgiving proclamation, issued shortly after the Battle of Chickamauga, where approximately 35,000 soldiers were killed or wounded.

Jeffress identified three threats he believes could accelerate America's decline: moral disintegration, military confrontation, and what he termed "Israeli isolation." He cited a July 2025 Gallup poll showing 59% of Americans held unfavorable views of the Israeli government, up from 51% the previous year.

Both political parties, Democrats and Republicans, both parties are intensely corrupt.

Jeffress declared those words to his congregation, emphasizing that only the Gospel could produce meaningful and lasting change.

Despite the dire warnings, Jeffress rejected fatalism. He urged Christians to champion religious liberty, vote for leaders who fulfill the biblical roles of government, pray for the nation's welfare, and share the Gospel with boldness.

The pastor noted that he finds it tragic when Christians spend more time discussing politics than talking about Jesus Christ. He called the faithful to be "salt and light" in a culture that he says is rapidly decaying.

We have experienced God's blessing for 250 years because of our strong Christian foundation.

Jeffress said his sermon was not intended to be a "typical flag waving, rah rah patriotic service" but rather "a very frank and biblical assessment of where America has been and where we are going."

Why Robert Jeffress Says the Gospel Is the Only Hope for America's Next 250 Years

Jeffress warned that America as the world knows it will eventually cease to exist, particularly in the last years of Earth's history known as the Great Tribulation. He described a future where there will be no freedom of press, no freedom of assembly, no freedom of religion, and no freedom of commerce under the Antichrist's rule.

His four point call to action for Christians was clear: take a stand for religious liberty, cast a vote for godly leaders, say a prayer for the nation, and share the Gospel with everyone they can.

The Crusader's Opinion

Pastor Jeffress is right, and frankly, he's being generous. Both parties have sold out the values that built this nation. Republicans wave the Bible at rallies and then legislate for lobbyists. Democrats openly mock the faith that founded every hospital, university, and orphanage in the West. Neither party will save America. Only the blood stained cross of Jesus Christ can do that. The Founding Fathers knew it. Lincoln knew it. And the 250th anniversary of this nation should be a wake up call, not a celebration, for every Christian who has been asleep at the wheel. Stop putting your hope in politicians. Start putting it in the only King who has never broken a promise.
