Reform UK Pledges to Be "Far Friendlier" to Christians Than Any Other Party in Britain
James Orr Says Farage Has Grounded Christianity and Will Defend Britain's Judeo Christian Heritage in Government
Reform UK head of policy James Orr, a Cambridge philosopher and theologian, has declared that a Reform government would be "far friendlier" to Christians than any other political party currently competing for British power, and insists that Nigel Farage's Christianity is genuine, not merely strategic.
"He's got a kind of grounded Christianity," Orr said. "His fondness for Christianity, or Judeo Christianity as he calls it, comes from a sense that it belongs to the nation that he loves." Orr added simply: "If you are a Christian, Reform is going to be far friendlier to you than the other parties."
Reform UK Strategist Claims Farage Holds Genuine Christian Conviction
Farage identifies as a member of the Church of England and has openly criticised the "leftward, progressive turn" in CofE leadership. He does not regularly attend services, and Telegraph columnist Tim Stanley dismissed Reform's framing as "English Shinto," treating Christianity as cultural identity rather than substantive faith.
Orr counters that Farage genuinely believes Christianity belongs to England's national soul. The party has yet to publish detailed policy promises tied to the Christian friendly framing, but the open courting of the Christian vote represents a striking new dynamic in British politics, where most major parties have spent decades treating biblical conviction as a liability rather than an asset.
The Crusader's Opinion
Britain has been led for decades by parties that view Christian conviction as a problem to be managed. Labour writes off the religious. The Conservatives quietly betrayed every promise made to Christian voters under Cameron and after. The Lib Dems were just caught in court paying out a quarter million for blacklisting a Christian candidate. If Reform genuinely defends the Christian heritage of England, it will earn the support of millions who have nowhere else to turn. But pledges are easy. The next test is policy. Will Reform legislate to protect free speech, defend the unborn, and reject the gender ideology rolling over British schools? Watch closely.
