Nigel Farage Stands With Persecuted UK Street Preachers as Council Tries to Silence the Gospel

Bread of Life Community Church Battles Colchester Council Order Banning Amplified Preaching of Hell and Judgement

Reform UK leader and Clacton MP Nigel Farage has publicly thrown his weight behind Bread of Life Community Church after Colchester council issued a Community Protection Notice attempting to silence the church's street evangelism in Colchester city centre.

The notice prohibits amplified sound during preaching after the council took offence to messages referencing hell and judgement. Pastor Stephen Clayden says the church has been preaching on the same streets for six years with no formal complaints until now.

UK Free Speech Crisis: Christian Preachers Criminalised for Preaching Scripture

"Reform U.K. MP Nigel Farage expressed support for the church and met with Pastor Clayden to discuss "Jesus, evangelism and the Bible," sources confirmed. Over 11,000 supporters have signed a petition demanding the church be allowed to keep preaching.

The Christian Legal Centre, led by Andrea Williams, is fighting the order in Colchester Magistrates' Court, arguing the ban violates Articles 9, 10, and 11 of the Human Rights Act protecting religious freedom, expression, and assembly. If the council wins, every Bible believing church in Britain that preaches sin and salvation in public is at risk.

The Crusader's Opinion

Britain has lost its mind. The same nation that sent missionaries to every corner of the globe is now jailing pensioners for praying silently and silencing pastors for preaching the Bible. Farage is right to stand with these street preachers. The Gospel is offensive precisely because it is true. Hell is real. Judgement is coming. Christ is the only way. Britain's secular bureaucrats can fine, harass, and arrest, but they cannot stop the proclamation of the Word. The Church will outlive them all.
