Nadine Dorries Confronts Princess Beatrice's Husband Over Disrespectful Behaviour During Church Service

Former UK Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries has revealed she gave Princess Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the "evil eye" after he laughed loudly and behaved like a "disrespectful teenager" during a church service in the Cotswolds.

Writing in her Daily Mail column, Dorries, 68, described how she was seated directly in front of Beatrice, her sister Princess Eugenie, and both of their husbands at a service organised by a mutual friend.

Edo was laughing loudly and generally behaving like a disrespectful teenager so that, at one point, I turned round and gave him the evil eye.

Dorries said Mapelli Mozzi, 42, responded immediately to her stern look.

To his credit, he got the message, pronto. But there was an arrogance there that smacked of immaturity.

The incident comes amid growing speculation about the state of Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi's marriage. The couple, who wed in 2020, have faced persistent rumours of strain, partly linked to the ongoing fallout from Beatrice's father Prince Andrew's association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Dorries went further, suggesting that Beatrice should consider relocating to America or Portugal, where Mapelli Mozzi has business interests, to help strengthen their relationship.

If the marriage is hard going now, then it is only going to get trickier if they are apart for long periods.

However, friends of the couple pushed back strongly against the narrative. A source close to Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi told People magazine the reports were "complete nonsense." Another friend insisted to Hello! Magazine that any physical distance between them was purely due to busy work schedules and childcare responsibilities, not marital issues.

The couple were photographed together on March 20 at a birthday dinner at Eel Sushi Bar in Notting Hill, London, where they were seen smiling as they left the restaurant.

Mapelli Mozzi, a property developer, has also drawn attention for deleting an Instagram post showing himself walking down a palm tree lined street in Los Angeles. The deletion raised eyebrows given the timing of the marriage speculation.

The controversy highlights an ongoing tension: public expectations around reverence in worship versus the private conduct of those connected to the Royal Family.

The Crusader's Opinion

Church is not a social club. It is a place where you come before Almighty God. Laughing loudly and acting like a teenager in the house of the Lord reveals exactly where your heart is. Good on Nadine Dorries for not tolerating it. Too many people sit in silence while reverence for God is trampled in His own house. If you cannot conduct yourself with basic respect during worship, stay home. The Royal Family once understood this. They were meant to be the defenders of the faith. Now we watch them treat a church service like brunch. The decay of Christian reverence in Britain did not happen overnight. It happened one act of casual disrespect at a time.
