Joseph Duggar From 19 Kids and Counting Arrested for Molesting 9 Year Old Girl During Family Vacation
Former reality TV star Joseph Duggar, 31, known for his role on TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," has been arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving unlawful sexual activity with a child under 12 years old.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Bay County Sheriff's Office in Panama City, Florida, a 14 year old girl told police that Duggar had molested her multiple times during a family vacation to Panama City Beach when she was just 9 years old in 2020.
The affidavit states that Duggar "repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap" and later "manipulated the victim's underwear and grazed her genitals" while covering them with a blanket on a couch.
The victim's father confronted Duggar about the allegations on Tuesday. Tontitown, Arkansas police officers arranged for the father to call Duggar with a detective listening on the line.
Duggar admitted to the actions during the recorded phone call, according to the arrest affidavit filed by the Bay County Sheriff's Office.
Duggar was subsequently arrested by the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas and is now awaiting extradition to Bay County, Florida, where the alleged abuse took place.
Joseph is the seventh child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. He married Kendra Caldwell in 2017 and the couple has four children together. The family's reality show aired on TLC from 2008 to 2015, following the daily lives of the large independent Baptist family in Arkansas.
Second Duggar Brother Faces Criminal Charges as Josh Duggar Serves Prison Sentence for Child Exploitation

This arrest marks the second Duggar brother to face serious criminal charges involving the exploitation of children. Joseph's older brother, Josh Duggar, is currently serving time in federal prison after being convicted in December 2021 of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.
In 2015, the show "19 Kids and Counting" was pulled from TLC after it was revealed that Josh Duggar had molested several of his own sisters when he was 14 years old. The family later returned with a spinoff called "Counting On," which ran until 2021 when Josh's federal charges became public.
Joseph Duggar's arrest on March 18, 2026, has sent shockwaves through the Christian community. The Duggar family has long presented themselves as devout independent Baptists committed to traditional family values and strict moral codes.
The Crusader's Opinion
There is no place in God's Kingdom for those who harm children. Christ Himself said it would be better for a millstone to be hung around a man's neck and for him to be cast into the sea than to cause one of His little ones to stumble. The Duggar family built an empire on the image of Christian purity, and now two brothers stand accused of the most vile sins against the most innocent among us. This is not Christianity. This is evil wearing a cross around its neck. The Church must be the first to demand justice, not the last to acknowledge the truth. Protect the children. Always.
