Israeli Man Filmed Kicking French Nun on the Streets of Jerusalem: Bishop Calls It Despicable

East Jerusalem Attack on Catholic Sister Sparks International Outcry as Police Arrest 36 Year Old Suspect

A French Catholic nun was shoved to the ground and brutally kicked while lying injured in East Jerusalem on 2 May 2026, in an attack so vicious that even Israel's former ambassador to India branded it "Jewish terrorism."

Video footage shows a 36 year old Israeli man approaching the nun from behind, forcefully shoving her to the pavement, then returning to kick her as she lay injured. A passerby intervened to stop the assault. The suspect was arrested.

Christian Clergy Targeted in Holy Land as Attack on French Nun Sparks Outrage

"The attacker returning to kick her after she was already injured makes the crime even more severe," said Bishop William Shomali, vicar general of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, who called it "a despicable act."

Daniel Carmon, Israel's former ambassador to India, openly characterised the assault as "Jewish terrorism." The French Consulate in Jerusalem said France "strongly condemns the attack against a French nun" and pledged to monitor her health while demanding justice. Israeli police acknowledged that they "view all forms of violence with seriousness, particularly attacks motivated by racism targeting clergy." The nun sustained facial injuries documented by police photographers.

The Crusader's Opinion

A nun in Jerusalem, the city of Christ Himself, knocked to the ground and kicked while down. Anyone who pretends Christian clergy are safe in the Holy Land is lying. Christians have lived in Jerusalem for two thousand years, and their numbers are now collapsing under harassment from extremists on every side. Israel must prosecute this attacker to the fullest extent and confront the rising tide of clergy targeting on its streets. The cradle of our faith cannot become a no go zone for those who follow its King.
