Fulani Terrorists Storm Sleeping Christian Village: Pastor, Wife, and Two Children Abducted, Security Chief Murdered

ECWA Pastor Andrew Dunia Family Kidnapped in Gidan Ali Southern Kaduna as 24 Attackers Demand 70 Million Naira Ransom

In the early hours of 27 April 2026, two coordinated bands of roughly twenty four armed Fulani terrorists stormed the sleeping Christian village of Gidan Ali in Zangon Kataf County, Southern Kaduna, abducting an entire pastoral family and gunning down the village's chief security volunteer.

The victims include ECWA Pastor Andrew Dunia, 45, his wife Murna Dunia, 40, their son Stephen Duniya, 20, and their daughter Maryamu Andrew Duniya, 18. Village mayor Andu Akulo was wounded in the attack. The terrorists are demanding 70 million naira, roughly 50,000 US dollars, for the family's release.

Southern Kaduna Christian Village Overrun by Coordinated Fulani Attack

Killed in cold blood was Bako Musa, 34, known by his neighbours as "Chiles," head of the Gidan Ali volunteer security guards. He leaves behind a wife and two children. The Christian villagers, members of the Ikulu ethnic group whose community is roughly 99 percent Christian, had reduced their volunteer patrols from 45 to 21 men after a year without major incidents. The terrorists struck the moment the guard dropped.

The two attacking groups arrived simultaneously on motorcycles. One targeted the security chief, the other invaded the pastor's home. The whole operation took less than seven minutes. A 21 year old sister in law who was nursing her baby was wounded in the leg during the rampage.

Nigeria's Middle Belt is bleeding while the Tinubu government plays diplomatic dress up in Washington. Fulani terrorists do not negotiate. They abduct pastors at gunpoint and kill village watchmen on their own porches. The Dunia family is now in the hands of men who view Christians as commodities to be ransomed or buried. Every dollar of US aid to Nigeria should be conditioned on protecting these communities. Every Christian who reads this should pray, give, and demand their government act before another Bako Musa dies.
