Washington DC Crime Plummets in 2026 After Trump National Guard Deployment and Hard Charging Prosecutions

The numbers do not lie. Washington DC, the city run into the ground by Leftist Democrat regimes, has gone from 274 homicides in 2023 to just 20 homicides through mid year 2026, a collapse in violence that follows directly from President Trump's law and order intervention.

The arrest to offence ratio has nearly tripled, jumping from 25 percent under the Biden administration to 58 percent under Trump. More arrests. More prosecutions. Less crime. As op ed contributor Jarrett Stepman writes, "It's common sense, not rocket science."

How Trump's Law and Order Strategy Crushed Washington DC Violent Crime

The turnaround began in August 2025 when Trump deployed the National Guard following the murder of two embassy workers, declaring "it is a point of national disgrace that Washington, D.C., has a violent crime rate that is higher than some of the most dangerous places."

US Attorney Jeanine Pirro replaced soft on crime predecessor Matthew Graves and began prosecuting violent juveniles as adults, particularly for the carjacking epidemic that hit nearly 1,000 incidents in 2023. Citizens, tourists, and federal staff can finally walk the streets of the nation's capital without fearing for their lives.

The Crusader's Opinion

For decades the progressive Left told us crime was the fault of poverty, racism, climate change, anything but the criminals themselves. They were lying. Real authority, real consequences, real prosecution. That is what protects the innocent. The Bible is clear that the magistrate bears the sword for a reason. Trump remembered. Democrats forgot. Every American city dying under soft on crime mayors should look at DC and demand the same medicine. Order is not oppression. It is the foundation of every free Christian society.
