British Christian charity Hope Together UK has launched a major Gospel outreach campaign timed to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, calling the tournament "the biggest mission opportunity" in recent memory.
More than half the global population is expected to follow the World Cup, and nearly two thirds of UK residents are likely to watch matches.
The flagship resource, "Goal of Life" (Football Gospel), pairs the Gospel of Mark with football themed content and the personal testimony of former Middlesbrough FC academy player Daryl Robson.
UK Christians Mobilise for Largest World Cup Gospel Outreach in Years
The "Great Gospel Giveaway" aims to distribute 100,000 Gospel copies across the UK by the end of 2026. Hope Together cites research showing that 47 percent of Christians say Bible reading was key to their faith journey. Pre order has already begun, with delivery starting 13 May 2026 at an early bird bulk price of 85 pence per copy.
