Hannah Harper, a 25 year old mother of three from Missouri, has received a Tiffany & Co. jewelry gift and a heartfelt handwritten note from American Idol judge Carrie Underwood after advancing to the show's Top 11.

Harper earned her spot following a standout performance of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" during the show's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night on April 13, 2026. She had already gone viral earlier this season when her audition brought Underwood to tears.

During that audition, Harper performed an original song called "String Cheese," which detailed her experience battling postpartum depression after the birth of her third child. Underwood was visibly moved, wiping tears and telling Harper, "That's about the most relatable song I think I've ever heard."

"From the first time I laid eyes on you and heard your story and your voice, I knew you were special." Carrie Underwood, in her handwritten note to Hannah Harper

Harper shared the gift on Facebook, writing, "Didn't think my first piece of Tiffany & Co. jewelry would come from Carrie Underwood." She added that the handwritten note meant more than anything else.

During Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night, Underwood told Harper that her voice gives her "chills" and encouraged her not to overthink her performances. Fellow judge Luke Bryan praised her "resurrection rock" style, while Lionel Richie remarked that she "went from singing to preaching."

Underwood reportedly sends personalized gifts to all contestants who reach the Top 11, but the connection between her and Harper has resonated with viewers across the country, particularly mothers who have faced similar struggles with postpartum depression.

Harper's openness about her mental health journey has drawn comparisons to Dolly Parton's storytelling style. Her willingness to share the raw reality of motherhood on a national stage has inspired countless women who have silently struggled with the same condition.

Underwood herself has been vocal about the challenges of balancing motherhood with a demanding career in the music industry, making the bond between the two women all the more meaningful to fans watching at home.

The Crusader's Opinion

This is what we need more of. A young mother stands on a national stage and speaks honestly about the darkness of postpartum depression, and instead of being mocked or dismissed, she is embraced. Carrie Underwood's response was not just kind, it was Christian. She saw a woman in pain and she lifted her up. That is exactly what the body of Christ is supposed to do. We need more of this in our culture: real vulnerability met with real compassion, not judgment.
