Anti Zionism Is Antisemitism: Christian Author Demolishes The False Distinction
Christian author Chris Kuehl argues the distinction between anti Zionism and antisemitism collapses upon contact with reality
Why Anti Zionism and Antisemitism Are The Same Thing According To New Christian Op Ed
A new opinion piece published by The Christian Post on April 6, 2026 argues that the commonly drawn distinction between anti Zionism and antisemitism dissolves once examined closely. The essay, written by theological author and Present Witness founder Chris Kuehl, contends that Israel is subjected to a level of scrutiny imposed on no other nation on earth.
Kuehl notes that while 33 nations voted to establish Israel in 1947, only 56 signers of the United States Declaration of Independence brought America into being, and yet America's legitimacy is not routinely questioned. He points out that roughly two thirds of the world's nations trace their origins to wars, conquests, and arbitrary post conflict divisions.
Israel alone is forced to endlessly justify its right to exist, a demand imposed on no other country.
That sentence comes from Kuehl in the Christian Post piece. He further observes that the United Nations and various human rights bodies have issued more resolutions condemning Israel than against all other countries combined.
Kuehl argues that modern anti Zionism functions as a socially acceptable cover for the historical antisemitism once directed openly at Jewish people. He cites the disproportionate international focus on Israel as evidence that the hostility goes beyond standard political critique.
The Collapse Of The Anti Zionism Distinction Explained By Chris Kuehl

Kuehl writes that in theory one can oppose a nation's policies without hating its people, but in practice the theoretical distinction appears to collapse upon contact with reality. He ties his argument to his broader mission at Present Witness, an organization he founded to build bridges between Israel and the Church.
The author frames the issue in theological terms as well, suggesting that Christians have a unique responsibility to recognize when political critique crosses into ancient hatred dressed in new language.
The Crusader's Opinion
Let's stop pretending. When the world obsesses over one tiny Jewish state while yawning at the slaughter of Christians in Nigeria, the persecution of Uyghurs in China, and the iron fisted tyranny of a dozen Islamic regimes, that is not principled human rights activism. That is the oldest hatred on earth wearing a new mask. Scripture tells us God blesses those who bless Israel. The Church must remember that the Messiah was a Jew, the Apostles were Jews, and the enemies of Israel have almost always turned out to be enemies of the Gospel too. Call evil what it is.
