A Boy Won 3 Girls Track Events by Nearly 2 Feet. California Just Forced Real Girls to Share His Podium

AB Hernandez Takes Triple Jump, Long Jump, and High Jump at CIF Southern Section Finals as Trump Threats to Pull California Federal Funding Force a "Sharing" Compromise

At the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division 3 finals on 16 May 2026 at Jurupa Valley High School, a teenage boy who identifies as female named AB Hernandez took first place in high jump, long jump, and triple jump, beating the girls by margins ranging from 2 inches to nearly 2 feet.

Under a CIF pilot policy responding to President Trump's threat to withhold federal funding from California, the female athletes who finished just behind Hernandez were forced to share first place with him on the podium.

How California's CIF Pretends to Solve Trans Athlete Issue While Sacrificing Real Girls

Gonzalez finished over a foot behind in high jump. Mureika trailed Hernandez by 2 inches. Strange was nearly 2 feet behind in triple jump. The CIF "sharing" policy now lists all four as co champions, despite the gulf in athletic performance.

Hernandez's mother, Nena Hernandez, framed the policy as protecting children from "harassment, intimidation, discrimination" while defending "constitutional freedoms even when it is unpopular." The girls and their families take a different view. So do Title IX advocates, who argue the CIF policy nullifies the entire purpose of single sex athletics by simply pretending the result is shared.

The Crusader's Opinion

A boy beat the girls by up to two feet, and California pretends he didn't. The CIF "sharing" compromise is the most cynical kind of policy. It pretends to honour the girls while handing the medal to the boy. Trump's threat to pull federal funding was right. The threat must escalate. Title IX exists to protect female athletes from exactly this kind of injustice. Christians who care about women, sport, and basic biological reality must demand California stop using legal fictions to override the truth. Every Christian parent must teach their children to refuse the lie.
