29 Christians Slaughtered in Nigeria While the British Government Plays Pretend
Nigeria Islamist Attack Kills 29 in Adamawa State as UK Foreign Office Accused of Denying Reality
An ISIS affiliated terror group massacred 29 people in Nigeria's northeastern Adamawa state in the latest assault on Christian communities, prompting British peer Lord Alton to publicly accuse the UK government of a "terrible lack of realism" about the Islamist genocide unfolding across the country.
Nigeria is now ranked the seventh worst country in the world for anti Christian persecution by Open Doors, and more Christians are murdered there each year than in every other country on earth combined.
Christian Persecution in Nigeria Reaches Genocidal Scale
"This is an affront and a terrible tragedy for bereaved families," Lord Alton said of the Adamawa atrocity. "Too many of these endless attacks have been ignored and followed by impunity."
The crossbench peer directly criticised Baroness Chapman, Britain's Africa Minister, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for displaying a "terrible lack of realism or understanding" about Islamist extremism. The attacks routinely intensify around Christian festivals such as Christmas and Easter, with one Catholic bishop previously stating that Christmas massacres had become "customary" in his region.
Nigeria's roughly 100 million Christians live alongside roughly 100 million Muslims, yet only one community is being systematically hunted, butchered, and buried in mass graves while Western governments shuffle paperwork.
The Crusader's Opinion
Twenty nine more of our brothers and sisters in Christ butchered, and the British Foreign Office cannot even bring itself to name the killers. This is not ignorance. This is cowardice dressed up as diplomacy. Nigeria is the slaughterhouse of the global Church, and every Western politician who refuses to call this what it is, genocide, has the blood of martyrs on their hands. The Body of Christ is being torn apart in Africa. Silence is complicity. Speak now, or answer for it later.
