At least 22 Christians were killed on March 5, 2026, in coordinated attacks by Fulani Ethnic Militia fighters across farming communities in Kwande County, Benue State, Nigeria.

Heavily armed Fulani jihadists stormed Mbaav village in Mbadura Precinct and Mbachom community along the Ayaga Tyungun Jam road in Yaav Precinct, both located in Turan District. Witnesses reported approximately 50 armed fighters riding roughly 25 motorcycles descended on the rural farming areas in the late afternoon.

Twelve farmers were killed in Mbaav, while more than ten bodies were recovered from a single household in Mbachom. Two additional bodies were later found in the surrounding area. Among the dead was Abum Chia Igbe, the younger brother of local resident Lubem Chia.

My younger brother had just returned from his farm when they attacked him.

Lubem Chia told Truth Nigeria. Witnesses reported hearing the attackers speaking Fulfulde and shouting "Allahu Akbar" as they carried out the assault. Several homes were set on fire during the attacks and the militants looted villagers' food supplies.

Community members reported that the massacre occurred despite more than 400 military personnel being deployed across Turan District in recent months. Residents accused security forces of effectively standing down during the assault.

The military collected weapons from the youths protecting our villages, but the Fulani terrorists still carry weapons.

Akough Orduen, a local resident, told Truth Nigeria. Survivors and the wounded are receiving treatment at Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi. Search operations continued with local volunteers combing bushes and surrounding areas for additional victims.

Kwande County, whose administrative center is Jato Aka, lies about 100 miles southeast of Makurdi, the capital of Benue State. The region is overwhelmingly Christian at 98 percent, mostly Catholic, and heavily dependent on farming. This latest violence follows another wave of attacks in February in which 33 Christians were killed within 72 hours in the same Turan District.

The Nigerian Senate has since urged the federal government to establish a military base in Kwande to address the escalating violence. At least 300 Christians have been killed by Islamic extremists in Nigeria since January 2026, according to multiple monitoring organizations. More than 500,000 people have been displaced since 2024 alone, with families pushed into overcrowded, under resourced IDP camps.

The Crusader's Opinion

The Nigerian military disarmed the Christian villagers who were protecting their own families, and then stood by while Fulani jihadists rode in on motorcycles screaming "Allahu Akbar" and butchered 22 innocent people. Let that sink in. The government took away their ability to defend themselves and offered nothing in return but empty promises and body bags.

Three hundred Christians murdered in Nigeria since January and the world is silent. No emergency UN sessions. No hashtags trending. No world leaders holding press conferences. If 22 Muslims had been slaughtered by Christians in any country on earth, every major news network would run it for a month straight. But Nigerian Christians are disposable to the global establishment. They always have been.

This is not a "farmer herder conflict." This is a campaign of religious extermination against the Body of Christ, and every Christian on earth should be outraged.
