162 Villagers Executed After Refusing Sharia Law as New ISIS Terror Group Unleashes Carnage in Nigeria
Lakurawa Islamic State militants execute over 160 villagers in Kwara State after they refused Sharia law
Lakurawa Islamic State Militants Massacre Over 160 in Kwara State Nigeria Attack
Islamic State affiliated militants executed at least 162 villagers in Kwara State, Nigeria, after residents refused to adopt Sharia law. The massacre in the villages of Woro and Nuku on February 4 marks the deadliest terrorist attack in Nigeria in 2026.
Hundreds of armed fighters stormed both villages at 5:30 PM local time. Between 6:30 and 8:00 PM, the assault entered what witnesses described as an "execution phase" where the killings escalated to industrial scale slaughter.
"Gunmen gathered people together and bound their hands before executing them"
Local officials described the systematic nature of the killings. The attackers torched buildings, homes, and shops across both villages. At least 38 people were abducted.
Amnesty International reported the death toll exceeded 170, with additional bodies recovered from surrounding bushland pushing estimates past 200. The Nigerian Red Cross confirmed "scores of people were killed" but could not reach the remote communities near the Benin border.
New ISIS Affiliated Terror Group Emerges as Deadly Threat to Nigerian Communities

The Lakurawa group, an Islamic State Sahel Province affiliate operating across Mali, Niger, and northwestern Nigeria, had issued warning letters to the villages for months before the attack. Residents who refused to submit to their version of Sharia law were marked for punishment.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq called the massacre a "cowardly expression of frustration by terrorist cells under pressure from ongoing counterterrorism operations." Researcher James Barnett suggested the attack may have been perpetrated by JAS, a Boko Haram faction, highlighting the confusion over which extremist group bears responsibility.
The Critical Threats Project called it the deadliest jihadist attack of the decade outside northeast Nigeria. Christians and Muslims who rejected extremism were among the victims, exposing the deadly consequences of refusing to bow to Islamic terror in West Africa.
THE CRUSADER'S OPINION
They came with a simple demand: submit to Sharia or die. An entire village chose death over submission.
162 people were bound, lined up, and executed for refusing to kneel to jihadists. This is what happens when the world ignores the rise of Islamic terror in Africa.
Today it was Kwara. Tomorrow it will be the Christian heartland of the Middle Belt. The pattern is clear, the threat is escalating, and the West says nothing.
