Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony Pro Life America, has issued a clarion call to the pro life movement: this is the Lincoln moment, and unless conservatives unify behind a national strategy, abortion will be legal in every state in America.

The numbers are staggering. More than 1.1 million abortions are committed in the United States every year, and a further 90,000 abortions occur annually in pro life states through mail order abortion pills. Five pro life states, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and North Dakota, now report higher abortion rates than under Roe v. Wade.

Why the Pro Life Movement Cannot Survive Without National Action

Dannenfelser invokes Lincoln's 1858 House Divided speech, the warning that no nation can endure permanently half slave and half free. America cannot remain permanently divided on the killing of unborn children. It will, in Lincoln's words, "all become one thing or all the other."

Her plan is unambiguous: preserve and expand pro life champions in Congress, support leaders aligned with national pro life goals, elect a presidential nominee who will fight, and mobilise grassroots networks. SBA Pro Life America has committed at least 160 million dollars to the cause.

The Crusader's Opinion

Dobbs was not the finish line. It was the starting gun. While conservatives celebrated, the Left flooded pro life states with chemical abortion drugs and erased every gain on paper. A million babies a year are still being slaughtered in the wealthiest nation on earth, and Christians who shrug are complicit in their blood. Lincoln did not negotiate with slavery. He buried it. The Church must do the same with abortion. No half measures. No state by state surrender. Total, lawful, national abolition.
