Pope Begs The World to End Ukraine Bloodshed as Peace Talks Collapse
Pope Leo Pleads for Ukraine War to End as Failed Peace Talks Leave Civilians Freezing and Dying
The Pope has urged all parties involved in Russia's war on Ukraine to hasten an end to the conflict.
As part of his Angelus prayer, Pope Leo emphasized that ongoing Russian attacks have left civilians exposed to the harsh cold of winter.
"The protracted hostilities have increasingly serious implications for civilians," Pope Leo said.
"I urge everyone to intensify their efforts to end this war."
His plea comes as the first trilateral peace talks between Russia, Ukraine and the US ended with no apparent breakthrough.
The two day talks held in Abu Dhabi finished whilst heavy fighting continues.
Energy Infrastructure Targeted as Winter Intensifies

Ukrainian officials reported that recent air strikes targeted the country's energy infrastructure, killing one person and injuring at least 35 others.
Meanwhile, Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking an ambulance in Russian controlled territory, resulting in the deaths of three medics, and later reported a Ukrainian missile strike on energy facilities in Belgorod.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has suggested a second round of talks could be held as early as next week, while an American official said discussions are set to resume on February 1st.
THE CRUSADER'S OPINION
Three years of war. Millions displaced. Thousands dead.
Peace talks accomplish nothing while civilians freeze without power.
Both sides attack infrastructure. Both sides claim righteousness. Both sides leave bodies in the snow.
The Pope pleads. The world shrugs. The weapons keep flowing.
Energy facilities bombed in winter is a death sentence for the elderly and children.
This isn't strategy. This is cruelty.
Zelensky wants another round of talks. Russia keeps bombing. America keeps funding.
Nobody wins when civilians die for territory.
The church must speak louder than the warmongers.
Every Christian should demand their government push for genuine peace, not endless proxy warfare.
How many more winters? How many more dead?
