Olivet University Riverside Campus Bounces Back After Accreditation Restored And Human Trafficking Case Dismissed
Olivet University's Riverside campus in Anza, California is refocusing on local community service after the Association for Biblical Higher Education restored the school's accreditation to "good standing" on February 28, 2026.
The restoration came five months after federal authorities from Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to file criminal charges against the university. Four international students seeking permanent residency had accused the school of human labor trafficking, claims university officials described as a "T visa scheme" meant to convert temporary visas into permanent residency.
Board Chairman Nathanael Tran told The Christian Post the process strengthened the institution.
We're very grateful to actually go through this process with them because it really helped us to identify what we need to improve on. And we're just grateful that we can be in good standing, and we just want to continue to strengthen this institution.
The Anza campus spans more than 900 acres in Riverside County with an additional 800 acres off campus, making it one of the largest Christian university properties in California. Olivet also operates campuses in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., St. Louis, Nashville, and Sanford, Florida.
Olivet University Students Return To Community Service In Anza Valley

With the accreditation fight behind them, students are once again pouring energy into the surrounding community. They recently donated more than 700 children's books to the local library, hosted a Palm Sunday prayer and praise event for Anza Valley churches, cleared brush and cleaned a riverbed to reduce wildfire risk, and continue to participate in monthly food drives.
Tran said nearly 100 percent of students regularly participate in prayer, Bible studies, and weekday morning services.
Our students have been very active, and they've been very engaged with a variety of community services. This rhythm is simply part of everyday life on campus.
Tran noted that a pastor once prayed over the land that it would become a place of worship, and he believes the school is now fulfilling that prayer.
The Crusader's Opinion
A Christian university gets falsely accused of human trafficking by foreign students gaming the T visa system, and the media treats the accusation like gospel until federal investigators quietly walk away. No apology. No retraction. No front page vindication. Meanwhile Olivet's students are out cleaning riverbeds and donating books to children while the world sneers at them. This is what faithfulness under fire looks like. Every Christian institution in America should be watching, because the lawfare playbook used against Olivet will be used against your church next.
