Iranian Regime Kills 19 Christians in Brutal Crackdown on Nationwide Protests

Two more Iranian Christians have been confirmed dead following the Islamic regime's violent crackdown on anti government protests that have swept the country since December 2025. The deaths of Nader Mohammadi, 35, and Zahra Arjomandi, 51, bring the confirmed Christian death toll to 19.

Both were shot dead on January 8, 2026, at separate protest locations roughly 1,000 miles apart. Mohammadi, a Christian convert, was killed while participating in demonstrations. His final message reportedly stated:

I have come to the streets on the orders of the Prince, and I must obey this order.

Arjomandi's body was detained by Iranian security services for six days after her death. Her family was barred from holding memorial services or publicly disclosing the circumstances of her killing.

The deaths were verified by Article 18, a religious freedom advocacy organization that monitors the persecution of Christians in Iran. The protests initially began as strikes by Bazari shopkeepers over economic grievances before expanding into a nationwide uprising against the regime.

Casualty estimates for the broader crackdown range from 7,000 to over 30,000 killed. At least seven Armenian Christians are also among the dead. Iran ranks as the 10th worst country in the world for Christian persecution, with converts from Islam facing the greatest danger.

A third Christian, Mohsen Rashidi, 42, was previously confirmed killed on January 9 after being shot while attempting to recover the body of a close friend during a demonstration in Isfahan province. He died after being prevented from entering a local hospital for treatment.

The Iranian government has faced international condemnation for the scale of its crackdown. Street protests first erupted on December 28 and have spread to more than 100 cities and towns across all provinces of the country.

The Crusader's Opinion

Nineteen Christians confirmed dead. Shot in the streets by an Islamic regime that the world continues to negotiate with, trade with, and legitimize. Zahra Arjomandi's body was held hostage for six days. Her family was forbidden from mourning. This is the reality of life under Islamic theocracy for Christians. Where are the global protests? Where is the UN outrage? If 19 Muslims had been killed by a Christian government, every capital in the West would be on fire with condemnation. The hypocrisy is deafening. Iran's regime is evil. It murders its own people for daring to want freedom, and it hunts Christian converts as apostates deserving death. Every one of these 19 souls will be remembered. Their blood cries out from the ground.
