Actors, filmmakers and television personalities gathered at Hollywood's historic Avalon Theatre on February 6 for the red carpet of the 33rd annual Movieguide Faith & Values Awards. The ceremony, hosted by Cameron Mathison and broadcast on Great American Family with streaming on Great American Pure Flix, honored films and television programs that highlight faith, redemption and family centered values.

Candace Cameron Bure, nominated for a Grace Award for her performance in "Timeless Tidings of Joy," spoke about the surge of spiritually themed programming reaching mainstream audiences.

I hope it's not a moment... it is what so many people have longed for.

Bure emphasized that viewers can tell when Christian content lacks a genuine faith perspective, calling for authenticity in the growing wave of faith driven entertainment. Her daughter Natasha Perry was also nominated in the same category, marking a generational moment at the awards.

Documentary filmmaker Billy Hallowell, nominated for the Aletheia Prize for "Investigating the Supernatural: Miracles," attributed the growing spiritual interest in media to cultural tensions.

We're watching revival break out, and we're also watching a lot of evil break out.

Hallowell's upcoming project, "Investigating the Supernatural: Angels and Demons," is set to premiere on March 16.

Cast members from "The Chosen" were also in attendance, with Paras Patel expressing gratitude for recognition from the show's dedicated audience. Vanessa Benavente shared that the cast has wrapped Season 6 and is preparing for the seventh and final season.

Michael Iskander, nominated for a Grace Award for television for his role in "House of David," praised Season 2's resonance, describing it as transformative for both viewers and his own performance. Danica McKellar, nominated for the Grace Award for streaming for "Have We Met This Christmas," stated that audiences are seeking uplifting entertainment.

People want to watch something... that's going to make them feel good afterward.

Hallmark actress Cindy Busby highlighted the event's unifying message in turbulent times. According to Movieguide's annual report, of the top 25 films in 2025, 84% had strong biblical or moral content and earned over $244 million at the box office.

The Crusader's Opinion

This is what winning looks like. While the secular entertainment industry continues to churn out moral rot, faith driven storytelling is not just surviving, it is dominating. Eighty four percent of the top films carried strong biblical content. Let that number sink in. The world is starving for truth, for redemption, for stories that point to something greater than ourselves. Hollywood ignored the faithful for decades, mocked us, belittled us. Now they cannot ignore the numbers. Every ticket sold, every stream watched is a vote for the Kingdom. Do not let anyone tell you that Christian culture is dying. It is rising, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
