Grammy winning pop icon Gwen Stefani has opened up about the deeply personal moment that changed her life forever. In a conversation on the Hallow prayer and meditation podcast with Catholic speaker Jeff Cavins, the 56 year old singer shared how her eldest son Kingston's prayers led to an unexpected pregnancy at age 44.

Stefani, who was raised Catholic in Anaheim, California, admitted she had drifted from her faith as an adult. When Kingston asked his mother for a baby brother or sister, she told him plainly that she was too old.

I'm sorry, your mom is too old to have a baby now.

But Kingston, who was around seven or eight years old at the time, refused to accept that answer. Without any prompting or teaching, he began praying every single night for God to give his mother another child.

Approximately four weeks later, Stefani discovered she was pregnant. She gave birth to her third son, Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale, naturally at the age of 44.

I think it was like four weeks later, I was pregnant with Apollo, who I had at 44 years old, naturally, totally full on gift.

Stefani called the pregnancy "the first miracle" in her spiritual journey. The experience sparked a return to Christianity that she says transformed her entire outlook on life and faith.

She credited her mother for planting the seed of faith early in her life.

My mom planted the seed of faith in me, and she knew I needed that.

Stefani was previously married to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, with whom she shares three sons: Kingston, now 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 12. Their marriage was reportedly annulled in 2021, the same year she married country star Blake Shelton.

Most recently, Stefani partnered with Hallow to promote its 2026 Lent prayer challenge, drawing both praise from believers and criticism from secular commentators who accused her of a so called "MAGA makeover." In response, she stated simply that her faith has always been part of who she is.

You can run from God or you can run to God. I ran to Him.

Stefani also shared that studying the Jewish Torah with a friend helped reawaken her spiritual hunger. She described how those conversations were "waking her up" during a time when she had been trying unsuccessfully to expand her family.

Apollo's birth became the turning point that brought her fully back to her Christian roots. Stefani said she felt she was "running out of time" and needed to become a "real Christian" before the opportunity passed.

The Crusader's Opinion

A child's prayer moved the hand of God. Let that sink in. While the world mocks faith and ridicules Christians for believing in miracles, a seven year old boy knelt beside his bed every night and asked God for a baby brother. Four weeks later, his 44 year old mother was pregnant. That is the power of prayer, and no amount of secular sneering can explain it away. The world calls Gwen Stefani's faith a "MAGA makeover." We call it what it is: a woman coming home to Christ. The fact that her critics are more outraged by a prayer app than by the collapse of the family tells you everything you need to know about where our culture stands.
