Seattle Seahawks Coach Mike Macdonald Credits Faith in God After Super Bowl LX Victory Over Patriots

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29 to 13 in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8, 2026, behind a dominant defensive performance. But it was head coach Mike Macdonald's post game testimony that captured Christian attention.

"I believe God called me to be a coach and I listened to Him and I thank Him," Macdonald said in his victory press conference. He described his faith journey with honesty: "You have doubts. It's kind of a roller coaster ride, and over the last few years it's been really strengthened."

Macdonald credited team chaplain Jonathan Rainey and his players for helping grow his faith. "My faith, and the team's, has really grown over the last couple years," he said.
