Hundreds of Gen Z students confess sins, seek God in continuous worship at Southeastern University as Jennie Allen compares movement to Asbury revival.
Gen Z Students Confess Sins and Seek God as Spiritual Revival Erupts at Southeastern University
A powerful spiritual awakening has swept through Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, after author and IF:Gathering founder Jennie Allen spoke at the university's annual SEU Conference on February 11, 2026.
What began as a scheduled conference session transformed into an extended period of worship, prayer, and repentance that lasted approximately 10 days, drawing comparisons to the 2023 Asbury University revival in Kentucky.
The atmosphere shifted during Allen's message when she challenged students to stand and verbally confess their sins and struggles. A pivotal moment came when a young woman shouted "abortion" and collapsed to the floor.
I think after that, it got real. Everyone began saying things that were harder to say.

Breakout sessions were immediately cancelled as worship continued from 10 a.m. through the night. Students transitioned to Bush Chapel on campus, where they remained in continuous worship and prayer for over 24 hours and beyond.
Allen changed her flight and stayed until 3 a.m. on several occasions, personally witnessing the depth of the movement.
Two thirds of those gathered responded to a call for vocational ministry or missionary work. Allen, who has baptized hundreds of students over two and a half years while traveling to approximately 20 college campuses, said the hunger she sees among Generation Z is unlike anything she has witnessed before.
SEU President Kent Ingle described the moment:
There was a moment in the midst of the conference when the atmosphere shifted. All of a sudden, the raw responses of students sparked an outpouring of spiritual and emotional healing.

Southeastern University Revival Echoes Asbury as Gen Z Turns to Prayer and Worship

Allen identifies prevalent issues among young people including suicidal ideation, anxiety, and feelings of worthlessness. She noted that underneath addiction, there is usually a story of something that happened to them.
Her book The Lie You Don't Know You Believe, which recently became a New York Times bestseller, addresses psychological patterns affecting young people. Allen emphasizes that naming struggles aloud breaks their psychological power.
The campus was filled day and night with prayer and worship, testimonies of healing, repentance, and a deep awareness of the presence of God. The university even cancelled classes to allow the movement to continue uninterrupted.
The Crusader's Opinion
This is what the world does not want you to see. While mainstream media obsesses over celebrity gossip and political theatre, hundreds of young people are falling to their knees, confessing their sins, and crying out to the living God. Generation Z is the most spiritually starved generation in modern history, and yet here they are, choosing worship over sleep, prayer over scrolling, and repentance over rebellion. The revival at Southeastern University is proof that no amount of cultural poison can extinguish the fire of the Holy Spirit. When a young woman shouts her deepest sin in a room full of her peers and collapses under the weight of confession, that is the raw, unfiltered power of God breaking chains. The world said this generation was lost. God says otherwise.
