Forrest Frank $10K Band Name Contest Sparks Miracle $30K Donation for Guatemala Orphans
Forrest Frank and Noah Hayden rebranded as Party Wave after contest sparked donations for Guatemala children
How Did Forrest Frank's Band Name Contest Turn Into a $30K Miracle for Guatemala Orphans?
Christian musicians Forrest Frank and Noah Hayden announced the winner of a fan driven contest to rename their band, a decision that introduced the new name "Party Wave" and helped spark tens of thousands of dollars in donations for a children's rescue ministry in Guatemala.
The duo had originally launched their project under the name "Dawn Patrol," but their Instagram account was removed after gaining 27,000 followers due to a trademark dispute. Rather than pursue legal action, Frank decided to crowdsource a new name and offered a $10,000 prize to the fan whose suggestion was chosen.
Rather than fight it and go the legal route, I think the best thing to do would be just to change our name.
That statement came from Forrest Frank, who previously was half of the mainstream duo Surfaces before committing his career to Christian worship music.
The winning entry, "Party Wave," was submitted by the family behind the popular @thebucketlistfamily Instagram account. When notified, the family declined the prize money and asked that it be passed on to the runner up instead.
The runner up was a married couple expecting their first child and preparing to move into their first home. They also refused to keep the money and instead directed the full $10,000 to A Father's Heart Children's Ministry, a Guatemala based organization that rescues children from human trafficking.
Party Wave Band Contest Raises Thousands for A Father's Heart Children's Ministry in Guatemala

Founded by Orbis Nieves, A Father's Heart works to rescue and restore children affected by trafficking and abuse. The ministry plans to use the funds to build a new children's center, with construction expected to begin at the end of the month.
What began as a $10,000 prize quickly ballooned as donors online decided to match the generosity of the contest winners. According to multiple reports, the campaign has since grown past $90,000 toward the ministry's $200,000 goal for the new facility.
That $10,000 has grown to $30,000 because people are like, 'Oh, I want to match that generosity.'
Frank shared those words as the donations continued climbing. His bandmate Noah Hayden reflected on how the setback transformed into a ministry moment.
It kind of was forced in our hand, but through that, God honored it in such a beautiful way.
The band's debut album "Dawn Patrol," whose title references their original name, was released on April 8, coinciding with Frank's 31st birthday.
The Crusader's Opinion
This is what Christianity looks like when money meets the Kingdom. A trademark lawyer tried to shut these men down and God turned the loss into a refuge for trafficked children. The Bucket List Family refused the prize. The young couple refused the prize. Strangers online multiplied it. That is not a coincidence, that is the Body of Christ functioning the way it was designed to function. Every dollar that flows into A Father's Heart is another child pulled out of the hands of evil. Meanwhile the entertainment industry spends millions on vanity. Christians, take note: generosity is the loudest sermon we can preach in 2026.
