Federal Investigation Launched Into Virginia School District After Illegal Immigrant Student Allegedly Assaulted Over a Dozen Girls

The U.S. Department of Education has opened a Title IX investigation into Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia after an illegal immigrant student was charged with sexually assaulting more than a dozen female classmates at Fairfax High School.

Israel Flores Ortiz, a 19 year old from El Salvador who illegally entered the United States in 2024, now faces 13 counts of assault and battery. According to police, Ortiz allegedly groped multiple female students over several months during the 2025 to 2026 school year.

On March 5, Fairfax High School alerted the City of Fairfax Police about multiple assault reports. Police issued an arrest warrant, and Ortiz turned himself in on March 7. On March 12, Principal Georgina Aye sent a notification to parents regarding the incidents.

By March 25, four additional assault charges were filed as more victims came forward, bringing the total to 13 counts. The federal investigation was announced on April 3.

Parents have expressed outrage, claiming the school district attempted to minimize the severity of the assaults. One victim's mother stated that Ortiz would

sneakily walk up behind students and grope them in private areas

over several months, contradicting school officials who initially described the assaults as mere "buttocks touching."

Victims reportedly faced bullying from classmates after the school's characterization of the incidents fueled rumors that the accusers were "just attention seeking."

The Department of Education declared the situation reflected "radical gender ideology" and "far Left indoctrination," connecting it to broader investigations into five Northern Virginia school districts.

Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid ordered the law firm McGuireWoods to conduct an independent review of the district's policies and procedures. A district spokesperson stated that

the safety of students and staff remains a top priority

and promised to "fully cooperate" with the federal inquiry.

Judge Dipti Pidikiti Smith denied Ortiz's release. He remains jailed without bond. ICE has also filed a detainer on Ortiz, confirming his status as an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador.

The federal probe is examining whether the school district discriminated on the basis of sex by failing to respond adequately to multiple reports of sexual assault by a male student against female students.

The Crusader's Opinion

Over a dozen girls were allegedly assaulted by someone who should never have been in that school in the first place, and the district's first instinct was to sweep it under the rug. These are not statistics. These are real girls whose safety was betrayed by the very adults entrusted to protect them. When a school system values political correctness over the physical safety of children, it has failed at its most basic duty. The parents were right to be furious. The federal government is right to investigate. And every single person who tried to minimize what happened to these girls should be held accountable. Protect the children. Always.
