Adelita Grijalva Claims Protesters Were "Not Violent" After Storming Cities Church Worship Service

Democrat Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva defended protesters who stormed a Minnesota church service, claiming they had "every right" to disrupt worship after learning a pastor leads a local ICE field office.

On January 18, a crowd including members of the Racial Justice Network and Black Lives Matter Minnesota entered Cities Church sanctuary, chanted "ICE out!" and demanded justice for Renee Good, a 37 year old woman fatally shot January 7 by a federal immigration officer as she plowed into him with her Honda Pilot.

The protest targeted pastor David Easterwood, who leads the St. Paul ICE field office.

In a January 19 CNN appearance, Grijalva said the protesters were "not violent" and had "every right" to disrupt worship after discovering "someone that's supposed to be speaking for the community in church is found out to be an ICE federal agent that is running ICE in their communities."

"Churches have always been an open door," the 55 year old Grijalva told CNN host Jim Sciutto.

When asked if activists went too far disrupting Sunday service, Grijalva replied, "I don't. I think that when they find out that someone that's supposed to be speaking for the community in church is found out to be a federal agent running ICE in their communities, they have the right to go in there."

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday the arrest of three individuals under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which prohibits "intentionally injuring, intimidating, or interfering with anyone seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom."

Last month, DHS accused Grijalva of impeding arrests of 46 illegal immigrants in Tucson, including some with prior sexual assault arrests, and falsely claiming she was pepper sprayed.

THE CRUSADER'S OPINION

"Churches have always been an open door" doesn't mean mobs have right to disrupt worship.

The First Amendment protects religious freedom. The FACE Act criminalizes exactly what she's defending.

Grijalva claims protesters weren't violent. They told children their parents were going to hell. They disrupted communion. They terrorized families.

Her logic: if you don't like someone's job, storm their church.

What if pro life activists used this justification at abortion doctors' churches? She'd scream domestic terrorism.

This congresswoman also allegedly impeded ICE arrests of sexual assault suspects, then lied about being pepper sprayed.

She's not defending protest. She's endorsing church invasion as political weapon.

Three arrests under FACE Act prove federal government disagrees.

Churches aren't public squares. Worship isn't subject to mob veto.

This is what happens when politicians hate ICE more than they respect religious freedom.
