Christian actor Alan Ritchson, the 43 year old star of Amazon's hit series "Reacher," will not face criminal charges following a physical altercation with a neighbor in Brentwood, Tennessee, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

The incident unfolded over two days in the Nashville suburb. On Saturday, March 21, neighbor Ronnie Taylor alleged that Ritchson was speeding through the neighborhood on a motorcycle. The two exchanged obscene gestures during the encounter.

The following day, Ritchson returned to ride motorcycles with his two young sons. Taylor confronted the actor in the street, rushing toward him and initiating physical contact.

After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson's actions were found to be in self defense.

Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin delivered the statement after a thorough investigation. Body camera footage worn by Ritchson showed Taylor approaching and shoving the actor twice, causing Ritchson to fall from his motorcycle and sustain cuts, bruises, and a minor finger injury.

Taylor himself admitted to pushing Ritchson, stating he "did push him because he was coming towards me on his bike." The physical confrontation that followed was captured on video and went viral across social media.

Ritchson declined to pursue a reckless endangerment charge against Taylor for the initial shove that knocked him off his motorcycle. With the agreement of the District Attorney's Office, the case is now closed.

The actor is well known for his outspoken Christian faith. He starred in the 2024 faith based film "Ordinary Angels" alongside Hilary Swank and runs a YouTube channel called "InstaChurch" where he shares messages about God, the Bible, and Christian culture. He has publicly credited God with his recovery after surviving a suicide attempt and being diagnosed as bipolar.

The viral video initially appeared to show Ritchson striking Taylor on a front lawn, but additional footage revealed that Taylor had instigated the confrontation by charging at Ritchson and knocking him off his motorcycle in front of the actor's children. Sources close to Ritchson maintained throughout the investigation that he did not start the fight.

The Crusader's Opinion

A man rides motorcycles with his sons in his own neighborhood. A neighbor attacks him. He defends himself. The media runs the story making the Christian look like the aggressor. Funny how that works. If the cameras hadn't been rolling, Alan Ritchson would have been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion before a single fact came out. Thank God for body cameras. The world loves to paint Christian men as either weak doormats or dangerous fanatics. Ritchson proved you can be a man of faith and still defend yourself and your children when someone puts hands on you. That is not violence. That is fatherhood.
